About Jordan Law Firm

Leonard Jordan

Jordan Law Firm opened its doors on May 19, 2014. It is a solo practice. Leonard R. Jordan, Jr. is the owner/manager of the firm. Since his admission to the bar in 1975, he has engaged in the private practice of law in Columbia, South Carolina for over 45 years.

Mr. Jordan was born in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1950. He attended public schools in Columbia and was graduated from A.C. Flora High School (1968), Clemson University (B.A. 1972) and the University of South Carolina School of Law (J.D. 1975).

From December 1, 1975, until February 1, 1995, when it merged with another firm, he practiced with a small firm headed by Joe E. Berry, Jr., under various firm names. Then, from February 1, 1995, until May 15, 2014, he practiced law with the firm of Berry, Quackenbush & Stuart, P.A. (formerly Berry, Adams, Quackenbush and Dunbar, P.A.), which has closed its doors.

His background and expertise has been related primarily to real property law. For the first 20 years or so of his career, his practice involved handling a large volume of residential and commercial property closings. For the first 30 years or so, 50% or more of his practice involved prosecuting mortgage foreclosure suits for various lenders. This foreclosure practice was state-wide. More recently, the practice has seen fewer closings and plaintiff-side foreclosures. His involvement in real estate closings is now limited to commercial loans, and his involvement in mortgage foreclosures involves representing defendants as often as representing plaintiffs.

Jordan Law Firm is committed to providing its clients high quality legal representation through personal attention and experience while adhering to the highest ethical standards of professional excellence and integrity.
